Rocksprings Independent School District
A Public and School Library in Rocksprings, Texas
Home of the Mighty Angoras
Rocksprings Independent School District is located in Rocksprings, Texas with most of the district in Edwards County and a small portion extending into Val Verde County. Approximately 250 students are enrolled in this 1A campus that includes Pre-K through 12th grades. Elementary (pre-kinder through 5th), junior high (6th-8th), and high school (9th-12th) students have their main classes in separate buildings, but are in close proximity to the shared facilities (library, cafeteria, auditorium, athletic and extra-curricular facilities, etc.).
Rocksprings ISD boasts strong connections with the students, families, general public, and businesses within the community it serves. As a small ISD in a remote community, it maintains a low faculty-to-student ratio which cultivates family-like relationships throughout the school and classroom environments.
In an effort to provide the best service and resources, RISD has partnered with Edwards County and The Gilmer Foundation for more than 20 years to ensure all school and community members have equal access to an exceptional public and school library that is unlike anything one would expect in a small, rural area. Due to this partnership and unwavering community patronage, our district also boasts the only school and public accredited library that has been nationally recognized as one of America's Star Libraries for 13 years. It has earned the highest rating, 5-Star Library, for the tenth year consecutively.
Located in the foothills of the Texas Hill Country, the Rocksprings ISD community is a great place to call home!
